- Barb writes the blog, Heffy's our star: my proper name is Haephestas. My family calls me Heffy. I started out in life as a barn cat at Equistar, a therapeutic riding center for persons with emotional and physical challenges. My human sister, Becky(she's 27), decided I could be a city cat, so she took me home to her family. That was 11 years ago, and I've pretty well settled into my life here. I have an older "sister" named Xenophon, who would be much more aptly named Miss Priss. She is crabby. I guess it's some consolation that she doesn't like anyone, so I don't let it bother me. There's a dog here now they call Mac. He's a big yellow dog and he pretty much likes everyone and everything. My mom, who likes to be called Barb puts my name on everything. I don't mind, it gives me a lot more publicity and exposure than I'd ever get on my own. She thinks my life is simple (she has no idea), so that's why she likes it.
